The Sony GP-VPT3 is a 3-in-1 shooting grip, mini tripod, and wireless remote commander. It works with selected Sony cameras and Xperia smartphones.
The grip lets you adjust the camera position for self-facing or outward-facing shooting. It provides tilt adjustment from 80 degrees upward to 90 degrees downward. In addition, the head release button makes position changes quick.
The GP-VPT3 also opens into a mini tripod for stable shooting. Therefore, it suits solo shooting, group photos, video recording, and fixed camera setups.
The detachable RMT-VP2 remote commander connects through Bluetooth. It provides shutter, MOVIE, AF-ON, C1, and zoom/focus controls. Moreover, Sony specifies a wireless range of approximately 10 meters under its test conditions.
The grip supports cameras and attached accessories with a combined weight of up to 1.5kg. It also provides dust- and moisture-resistant construction. However, Sony does not guarantee complete dust or moisture protection.
The black version weighs approximately 179g without the battery. The folded grip measures approximately 49.5 × 173 × 39.8mm. When opened as a tripod, it measures approximately 146.3 × 133.5 × 164.6mm.
