The Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM DS is a full-frame RF-mount prime lens for Canon EOS R cameras. It provides an 85mm focal length and a maximum f/1.2 aperture.
The optical design uses 13 elements in 9 groups. It includes one BR optical element, one UD element, and one ground aspherical element. Also, Canon applies Air Sphere Coating and Defocus Smoothing technology.
The DS coating creates smoother out-of-focus highlights around the subject. In addition, Canon designed the lens for portrait, fashion, wedding, and similar photography.
For autofocus, the lens uses a ring-type USM drive system. Therefore, it provides fast and precise autofocus with compatible EOS R cameras. The minimum focusing distance is 0.85m.
