The Canon EOS C50 is a compact full-frame Cinema EOS camera with a 7K CMOS sensor. It uses the Canon RF mount and DIGIC DV 7 processor.
The sensor supports Full Frame 3:2 open-gate recording. It also provides Full Frame, Super 35mm, and Super 16mm crop modes. Furthermore, Canon Log 2 provides over 15 stops of dynamic range in full-frame mode.
The camera records 12-bit Cinema RAW Light internally at up to 7K 60p. It also supports 4K recording at up to 120p. In addition, XF-AVC provides 10-bit 4:2:2 recording.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II provides autofocus with subject detection. Therefore, the camera can maintain focus during high-frame-rate recording. It also supports up to 4K 120p and 2K 150p slow-motion recording.
The EOS C50 supports dual base ISO of 800 and 6400 with Canon Log 2. It also captures 32MP still images in Photo mode. Moreover, the camera supports simultaneous 2K crop recording.
The detachable handle provides two full-size XLR audio inputs. It also includes a start-stop button and zoom rocker. In addition, the camera provides HDMI, USB Type-C, microphone, and headphone connections.
The camera includes a 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD with approximately 1.62 million dots. It also supports Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. Furthermore, Canon includes in-camera Frame.io Camera to Cloud integration.
The EOS C50 uses the LP-E6P battery. Its compact body weighs approximately 680g without the battery, card, handle, or other accessories. Therefore, it suits handheld production and mobile cinema setups.
